I have obtained a range of skills during my first year studying A level Media Studies. The skills I have learnt include:
In desktop publishing:
· Create text boxes
· Change size of the text box
· Insert text
· Change size/colour of text
· Change background
· Insert images
· Layer objects
· Rotate objects
Photoshop:
· Layer images
· Changing the size of images
· Change opacity
· Add/delete backgrounds
· Unlock backgrounds
· Use different filters
· Merging layers
· Inserting text
· Changing the brightness/contrast of images
· Changing the colour of different texts and images
· Inserting/change different fonts
· Change the perspective view of an image
· Use wipe/fade/crop and other saturation tools
· Lock layers
Using a camera:
· Taking standard pictures
· Zooming in
· Zooming out

· Focusing an image
Using a camcorder:

These are all the skills that I can currently use effectively to whatever media text that I may be producing or editing. Last year I produced three print texts based on a music magazine, which enabled me to develop my desktop publishing skills such as word publisher and in some cases word processer.
